In an age of digital transformation, this article delves into insights from Cyprus’ elderly, focusing on their internet use, confidence in online activities like shopping, and data security awareness. Based on interviews with ten participants aged 65 and above, the study reveals varying degrees of internet proficiency, challenges with online purchases, and concerns about data protection. While many are regular internet users, they struggle with differentiating online functions and mitigating risks. The findings underscore the need for tailored digital literacy programs and user-friendly interfaces to empower this demographic in an evolving digital landscape.
